Curium’s GalenVita Ge-68/Ga-68 Generator has been awarded the prestigious Red Dot Award: Product Design 2026.

Recognised among leading products from around the world, the Red Dot Award celebrates outstanding design based on criteria including functionality, usability, design quality and innovation. For GalenVita, the recognition reflects a design philosophy that goes beyond performance to focus on the people who use the generator every day.

Combining safety, usability and design

From the outset, the goal was to rethink the conventional design of nuclear medicine generators by combining uncompromising radiation safety with ergonomic, everyday usability for medical professionals.

The result is a compact and stackable generator architecture designed to provide secure radiation shielding while supporting efficient workflows in radiopharmacy environments. Every element of the design was developed with real-world use in mind, from the overall structure and elution port positioning to smooth surfaces that facilitate cleaning and sterilisation.

Customer feedback has highlighted the improved ergonomics, ease of use in hot cell environments and practical advantages of the new design.

Innovation shaped by experience

The GalenVita project brought together Curium’s engineering and industrial design expertise with insights from users in the field. The result demonstrates how thoughtful design can address complex technical challenges while making products more intuitive and efficient to use.

The Red Dot recognition validates this approach, highlighting the combination of innovation, functionality, safety and user-centred design behind GalenVita.

Congratulations to all the Curium teams who contributed to bringing GalenVita from the initial CAD concepts to the final manufactured product.

This award is a recognition of our continued commitment to advancing innovation in nuclear medicine — with safety, performance and the user at the centre.
