Our History and Heritage A century of combined legacy
Curium’s journey began in the 1980’s and when two nuclear medicine powerhouses, IBA Molecular and Mallinckrodt Nuclear Medicine LLC, came together, our vertically integrated company with a single focus on nuclear medicine was created.
From scientific origins to global scale
Our legacy companies developed a variety of radioisotopes that helped grow Curium from a handful of individual founders into a global nuclear medicine company of over 3,800 people.
The Curium Group
Curium is an independent global company with operations across North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific, dedicated exclusively to nuclear medicine and focused on delivering innovative radiodiagnostic and radiotherapeutic solutions to patient’s worldwide.
$7bn Recapitalisation
In 2026, together with CapVest, Curium announced its recapitalization via a new Continuation Vehicle, valuing Curium at $7 billion. This marked the largest global transaction in nuclear medicine and accelerates our strategy to expand access to our established radiodiagnostic products and launch innovative radiotherapeutics globally.
Marie Curie’s Legacy
Marie Curie’s discoveries in radioactivity laid the foundations of nuclear science and medicine. Curium is a chemical element named in honor of Marie and Pierre Curie, reflecting this enduring scientific legacy
