Global Infrastructure Architect

Summary of Position

The Global Infrastructure Architect is responsible for providing overall leadership, establishing and maintaining technical roadmaps and representing all technical architecture disciplines for the CTO. He is responsible for leading the Global Infrastructure Architecture, as well as engagement with other Experts working in the Global Infrastructure Competence Center based in Prague.

Essential Functions

  • Develop and BUILD the technology strategy, architecture, and critical investment plan to support the Design and the Build phases
  • Provide architecture thought leadership (e.g., tool selection, standards, strategic direction, etc.)
  • Work across Infrastructure team to fine tune the global architecture picture AND Build with the infrastructure team the overall picture validated
  • Perform architectural analysis and design for systems spanning our products and installations
  • Partner with various business stakeholders and technology leaders to translate program requirements into technical solutions and system designs
  • Understand the organizational direction, goals and our industry competitive environment to determine how architecture can add value to the organization and to business. Make expert recommendations and decisions clearly linked to the organization’s strategy and financial goals.
  • Maintain an organization-wide view of current and future business and application/platform architecture to provide solutions that integrate into the overall architectural vision and strategy
  • Provide leadership and expertise in the development of standards, architectural governance, design patterns and practices
  • Ensure that the technology architecture and technical strategies remain current with the business goals, and direct the development of architecture activities and projects while aligning with current and long-term business and technology goals (Industrial & affiliates)
  • Promote best practices to support scalability, skills transfer and organizational change management across the enterprise and architecture community
  • Mentor technical leads/Infrastructure experts to enable the individuals and the organization to develop a scalable and stable solution landscape
  • Maintain a rolling strategic architecture roadmap (and socialize, evolve and obtain buy-in for the roadmap from the infrastructure team and CTO)
  • Participate in ongoing architecture governance activities
  • Participate in leadership discussions regarding new technology introduction and/or enterprise system planning activities (M&A)
    • Translate technology concepts into business terminology
    • Create images, graphics and/or charts that provide exceptional clarity and connections to business objectives
  • Provide direct leadership to a team of external and internal

Requirements

  • 15 + years of progressive technology leadership experiences
  • Demonstrated expertise in Business and Solution Architecture
  • Proven success creating business-enabling 3-year technology roadmaps
  • Experience architecting scalable technology solutions that adjust to cyclical business patterns
  • History of engaging with Data Centers & customers and external IT partners.
  • Proven track record of effective working relationships with executives and key business partners to drive change agendas
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking abilities and an enterprise-wide perspective
  • History of executing with excellence: setting purposeful goals and achieving them through intelligent actions, which balancing competing priorities without losing momentum behind execution
  • Experience leading through influence in a large, matrixed, global environment
  • Leadership style which fosters accountability, transparent communication and innovation
  • High level of emotional intelligence and confidence
  • Outstanding collaboration, strong influencing, problem solving and negotiation skills
  • Proven ability to sell ideas to others outside of your direct team members
  • Pharma (specifically Industrial context) experiences desired

Location Profile

The Curium location in Prague employs over 80 employees and functions in this location include Finance (AP, Treasury, Payroll, FP&A, GL), IT, HR, Sales Ops & Customer Service.  The Prague offices are very modern, offering free coffee, tea, hot chocolates, water, fruits and vegetables on a daily basis. In addition, Meal Vouchers, annual bonus, Edenred Benefits Café Card (4 000 CZK net/month; in trial period 1 500 CZK net/month), 5 weeks of vacation, 5 sick days per year, referral program, contributions to ACCA, contributions to accident and life insurance, contributions to pension (3% from salary).
