Summary of Position

Distribution Technicians are responsible for ensuring all customer orders are prepared, filled, packaged and closed out according to departmental procedures in order to meet established transportation schedules and customer delivery commitment times.

Essential Functions

  • Prepare, fill and package customer orders per department SOP’s.
  • Participate in product rotation by using FIFO to meet all cGMP requirements.
  • Complete consolidations per flight schedules.
  • Prepare Shipping documents in accordance with department SOP’s.
  • Ensure Quality release and package counts for all shipments.
  • Expedite outbound shipments with contracted couriers to ensure commitment times are met.
  • Remain in compliance with all regulatory regulations by following all established SOP’s.
  • Participate in special projects as assigned.
  • Complete assigned Housekeeping tasks per established SOP.
  • Ensure a safe and quality working environment through training, awareness, and compliance to safety guidelines and SOP’s.
  • Have proficiency in various JDE functions including miscellaneous adjustments, inventory allocation, inventory availability, item/lot ledger and supply/demand inquiry.
  • Maintain accurate records and inventory levels of all finished goods in MAPICS and JDE inventory systems.
  • Work with Distribution Management to investigate and resolve any inventory discrepancies related to MAPICS and JDE systems.
  • Participate in Cycle Count Review with Distribution Supervisor and Maryland Heights Finance department.
  • Maintain Distribution inventory supplies through EWS Ordering System.
  • Ensure Generator Cask returns are completed in timely manner in order to be shipped back to the known Suppliers.
  • Participate in Six Sigma, Lean initiatives and 5S projects in the department.
  • Have a understanding of JDE Traffic Order Entry Menu in order to investigate customer inquiries as needed.


  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • 0 – 3 year of work experience in manufacturing or distribution required.
  • Preferred experience within a logistics or customer service role.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Good hands on, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and with others to accomplish goals and priorities.
  • Flexibility and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • PC based distribution management & inventory systems.
  • High level of energy and regular, consistent attendance.
Working Conditions:
  • Must be willing to work around radioactive materials in accordance with federal and site regulations.
  • Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds.
  • Must be flexible to work weekends, off-shifts and overtime as necessary.
  • Must be able to stand for 8+ hours a day.
  • Must be able to work indoors and outdoors with exposure to mechanical/moving parts hazards, dust, dirt, odors, and irritants.
  • Exposure to high noise levels.
  • Kneeling, lifting, crouching, bending, pulling, pushing, and twisting the upper body.
