Summary of Position

To be part of a team manufacturing critical radiopharmaceuticals for patient administration from a newly built and commissioned Radiopharmacy in West London. You will support the validation process, apply the principles of Good Manufacturing Practice to ensure Quality remains at the core of operations. You will supervise a team and assume site responsibility in the absence of the Production Manager.

Essential Functions

  • Manufacture Pet radiopharmaceuticals using hot cell technology
  • Aseptic dispensing of radiopharmaceuticals using negative pressure isolator technology
  • Adopting radiation protection technique
  • Packing radiopharmaceuticals according to local guidelines and transport regulations, prepare for shipping
  • Releasing products according GMP guidelines, acting as releasing officer under delegation of senior management Radiopharmacy
  • To perform duties relating to site and production responsibility in the absence of the Production Manager
  • Provide effective communication within the team and organisation
  • Stocking consumables in the aseptic suite and isolators
  • Monitor isolators and suite for microbial growth to carry out radiation monitoring of the isolators and Radiopharmacy Suite.
  • Recording of logs for fridge, freezers, isolator checks etc.
  • Filling out exemption deviation reports where applicable
  • Participate in error/near miss audits
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues through either department meetings, one to one’s or quick meets to highlight potential risks or gains to the department
  • Comply the legal and organizational procedures & guidelines about quality, safety, health and environmental issues
  • Ensure all GMP guidelines and processes are followed
  • Ensure all GMP testing has been done
  • Training of Technicians in manufacture procedures
  • Performing internal QA, GMP and 5S audits
  • Perform QC testing on all batches according to SmPC/procedure for batch release
  • Review of batch documentation and Quality Control results before batch release
  • Manage QC data spreadsheet and all QC equipment including their maintenance/calibration
  • Ensure compliance monitoring sheets are completed and data populated on spreadsheet
  • Ensure EM is done and plates are sent to Pharmacy in a timely manner
  • Review and approve deviations, MOOS, OOS etc. during production
  • Raise and investigate Out of Specification QC results
  • Calibration of production apparatus
  • Setting up production orders in the system
  • Checking stock level and ordering half products/raw material

Requirements

  • Pharmacy services or equivalent life science degree
  • Aseptic dispensing experience or Radiopharmacy experience or working with isolators is desirable
  • Knowledge of radiation and environmental policies and guidelines
  • Good scientific understanding of radiation physics
  • Thorough understanding of GMP and the guidance for Specials Manufacturers license holders
